U.S. federal investigators are sharing some early details into their probe in Sunday night's fatal crash involving an Air Canada jet at New York's LaGuardia Airport. They say only one of two air traffic controllers on duty at the airport cleared the fire truck to cross the runway 12 seconds before the plane touched down arriving from Montreal, leaving little time to avoid the collision that killed both Canadian pilots. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is looking to determine if two controllers on duty overnight is enough. Planning a trip to the U.S. will pack your patients. Air travel appears to be getting worse, with word major U.S. airports reporting at least a four-hour wait to get to the gate. Government in-house fighting has led to a partial shutdown affecting the Department of Homeland Security. TSA workers have not been paid in five weeks. Some are refusing to show, while close to 500 others have already quit. Owen Sound's deputy mayor wants to see the city send a bill to the anglers who were rescued from the ice on Georgian Bay earlier this month. At Owen Sound Council meeting Monday, Scott Gray gave notice that he plans to seek support from his colleagues on a motion that they asked staff to prepare a report on the costs for the incident March 8th and prepare to issue proportionate invoices, saying what happened that day was foreseeable and predictable given the weather over the previous week. The motion comes before council at an April 13th meeting. And A frightening thought for parents who like to post pictures of their kids on social media. Now, a New Mexico jury found the social media conglomerate that owns Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp is harmful to children's mental health and in violation of state consumer protection laws. State prosecutors said Meta prioritized profits over safety and failed to adequately monitor the platforms for child sexual exploitation. Now among some of the more disturbing facts, research about Meta's ad delivery system found images of young children and women are being disproportionately delivered to older men.
