Three weeks into the OPP's festive ride campaign, West Region Police have removed almost 150 impaired drivers from the roads. To date, West Region OPP conducted 1,533 ride check events across 13 detachments, 143 impaired driving charges, 21 worn range suspensions across the province. There were 5,428 ride checks, over 600 impaired driving charges, and 65 worn range suspensions. The ride campaign runs till January 1st. A school bus, fire truck and delivery van all collided yesterday in Owen Sound. According to reports, it happened at about noon at the intersection of 14th and 2nd. A student from the school bus and the driver of the fire truck taken to hospital for minor injuries. Police say the fire truck did not stop at a red light, striking both the bus and van. That driver has been charged. The annual inflation rate in the province rose a little bit to 1.9% in November. StatsCan said grocery prices rose as the price of gas and travel tours fell. Fewer Canadians also visiting the U.S. Traveler accommodations in Canada also fell 6.9% annually. The province has no plans to sell a stockpile of U.S. booze sitting in storage over the holidays.
