The dollar trading just under 71 cents. I'm Stacey Englehart. The SIU has invoked its mandate following an incident in Hanover 2 years ago. According to a news release, South Bruce OPP pulled a car over in May of 2024 and tried to take an individual into custody, but the person fled. He was later arrested and reported injuries during the incident. The former chair of the Windsor Detroit Bridge Authority said he's wary about whether the Gordie Howe Bridge will actually open today at the ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday for the long-awaited bridge connecting our two countries via Windsor Detroit. Not a single U.S. representative showed up. Why? They were uninvited. Federal government canceled the joint event in light of new U.S. tariff threats. Ottawa said it would be inappropriate. Now the bridge is supposed to open to traffic by about noon today. Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a notice of a recall for several dairy milk chocolate bars. Officials say there have been reported allergic reactions to the dairy milk Oreo bars. The CFIA said anybody who bought them needs to throw them in the garbage or bring them back to the store for a refund. And another drug manufacturer is going to pay people for the harm their medication caused. but does not have to admit they did anything wrong and can still sell their products in Canada. Canadians who've used Rex Salty have until August 27th to file their claim. The class action lawsuit covers compulsive behaviors after they've taken the drug. While Rex Salty is still sold in the country, here's a not so fun fact. Every pharmaceutical company in the world has basically paid financial penalties or criminal fines for selling harmful products and hiding dangerous side effects, according to U.S. 250,000 people die every year in the U.S. alone just because they took a prescription. Light 99-3 sports baseball yesterday. The Jays lost to Boston 6-1. They lost two out of three this weekend and back to work tonight with a game in Washington at 7:45.
