A Markdale man has been charged after a collision with a pedestrian. Wellington North OPP said it happened earlier last month when a pedestrian and their dog struck by a tractor trailer trying to cross Highway 6 and Arthur. A 60 year old is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving causing bodily harm and failing to yield to a pedestrian. Just days after appearing at a Montreal Canadiens playoff game, four-time Stanley Cup champion Claude Lemieux has died. The 60-year-old was found by police just after 3 in the morning Thursday at the family's furniture store in Florida. Police believe he may have taken his own life. Prosecutors in Newmarket expected to withdraw more than a dozen murder charges against Kenneth Law. The 60 year old is accused of selling online deadly substances to people looking to take their own lives. His lawyer said instead he would plead guilty to 14 counts of aiding suicide. And just how long telecom and digital service providers can retain your metadata is not going to change anytime soon. Federal government's proposed lawful access bill would currently allow for digital traces of communication, but not the e-mail or text itself, to be kept on record for up to a year. Critics say it's too long and a much shorter window should be considered. Civil liberties advocates say the bill would vastly expand surveillance powers for police and intelligence agencies.
