Well, after recently falling 12 and rising 7, it's back down another five. Welcome back to the gas price roller coaster. Since the beginning of the month, it's up 30 cents from where it started. And while we're paying for it, none of it is any of the high-priced oil that resulted from the US's war with Iran that has yet to be refined and delivered to the gas pumps. All the 2026 budget now projects the province will be back in the black for 2028-29 with an expectation of closing out this fiscal year with $12.3 billion in the hole, the deficit worsening to 13.8 in the upcoming year. Budget also allocates billions for what it calls high-growth industries, including AI, defense, and advanced manufacturing. It also proposes to cut small business corporate income tax from 3.2% to 2.2% and allow for faster write-offs of capital investments. the province investing $1.1 billion more into home care while it grapples with the reality that it's unlikely to achieve its goal of building 58,000 new long-term care beds by 2028. The funding boost for home care is part of the finance minister's budget released yesterday. And the Juno's happening this weekend at TD Coliseum in Hamilton. While festivities have been ongoing since yesterday, expect some Rd. closures in and around the venue.
